Gesundheit
Endless reels of images, one after the next: FOREVER.
Forever moving forward documenting everything in an attempt to grasp at something unattainable; something ever-so-slightly out of reach. We can see the moment. We live in it-like the ass chasing the carrot on the end of a fishing pole right in front of its face. In an attempt to bite the carrot, the ass becomes productive as a byproduct of its own desires, propelling itself forward as a physical manifestation of labor birthed out of the constant gnawing towards the prize. How do we harness this labor, and to what end? Is the prize worth it? Does the ass ever eat the carrot?
What do all of these images mean?
Upon individual close inspection, we see the minutiae; we appreciate the precious moments of poetry contained in a single, fleeting snapshot in time. Once we zoom out, the horizon is blurry and the images no longer possess their unique charm. Visual motifs transform into textures, cracks, and chasms in an ocean of arbitrary colors with seemingly no beginning or end.
A sneeze HAS a beginning and an end; often achieving immediate crescendo, and allows for improvisation. What comes next? Does it build towards an additional series of subsequent sneezes? Or, does the sneeze preclude an uncomfortable whimper, eyes welling in an attempt to suppress an additional one? What comes before the sneeze? Does its victim ache with anticipation as the sneeze announces itself? Its climax, a cacophony of catharsis clamoring candidly towards still shores and empty sky.
A sneeze is like jazz, but it's also not like jazz at all.
Who cares?
An ambiguous horizon. Forms, shapes, colors, and meaning, not impervious to the arbitrary sea of endless tranquility.
Look closer, and find even less meaning…
…and more.
Faces containing personal resonance collide with visages that mean absolutely nothing to the individual, all contributing to flavorless, yet nourishing Consommé of the soul.
